The TQtogether community has been busy throughout the year supporting our chosen charities, so we wanted to take some blog-space to round-up everything that’s been going on.

To start the year off we launched the TrustQuay House-to-House challenge in aid of Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, an international organisation close to the hearts of many TrustQuay employees.

The challenge started on 01 April 2022 with staff aiming to walk, cycle or run a combined total of kilometres equivalent to the distance between TrustQuay‘s office in Sydney, Australia and a Ronald McDonald House based in Ottawa close to our Canadian TrustQuay employees.

The route was calculated to include virtual ‘stop-offs’ at TrustQuay offices in Singapore, Cyprus, Luxemburg, the UK, Jersey, and Guernsey, as well as the charity’s houses around the world. The total target was 14,665 miles and when the challenge ended TrustQuay staff had completed 15,501.42 miles!

The House-to-House challenge raised over £3,000.

Next was the Jubilee bake sale involving staff from TrustQuay offices around the world. It turns out our staff are incredibly competitive when it comes to baking so it was a great competition!

During our UK summer party, the senior management team got involved and volunteered themselves to be the targets in a Sponge The SMT challenge. This was great fun, and a great fundraiser. When we held the first ever in-person TrustQuay Forum in October, Daisy’s Dream was the spotlight charity for both the event and the associated Hackathon.

From the summer party, TrustQuay Forum and Hackathon, £2,717 was raised for Daisy’s Dream.

Last month we held the Great British TrustQuay Bake-off. Staff were able to dust off those baking skills again and take part!

This bake sale along with the TQtogether committee raised £1,589.

In addition to fundraising events, TrustQuay also offers a ‘Donate a Day to Charity’ scheme offering staff the opportunity to spend up to two days a year volunteering or spending time working with a charity or community project of their choice. In November a team of volunteers headed to the Jersey Donkey Sanctuary and spent the day helping out with yard work while the Product and Marketing team spent a day at the Ronald McDonald House at St Georges Hospital, Tooting learning about the invaluable service it provides parents and families of sick children and helping out around the house and getting it ready for Christmas.

Giving back to the community through events and volunteering not only helps to support and inspire local communities but is also thoroughly rewarding. This has been an amazing year for TQTogether and in total £16,719.01 has been raised!

All this means that, since forming in 2020, TQTogether has raised a massive total of £31,592.75.
