The 11th annual Cruse Bereavement Care Charity Golf Day, sponsored by Celton Manx, took part on Wednesday 26th May in lovely sunny conditions at Peel Golf Club in the Isle of Man.
A record 24 teams (96 players) consisting mainly of corporate businesses in the Isle of Man, played a 4 man scramble to determine the winning team. The club professional Lewis Denning also provided a ‘Beat The Pro Challenge’ on the 10th hole, which raised additional funds for the charity.
Viewpoint Corporate Services Ltd. entered two teams which finished 8th and 2nd respectively.
Paul Hinstridge, Captain of the Viewpoint team that came second said, “We had a great day out in support of this important local charity. The funds they manage to raise at this day equate to those the IOM Government give them annually by way of grant, so it’s a very important fund raiser and also one of the most popular charity events run in the island. We were of course delighted to feature in the prizes, but more importantly to be able to help support this crucial bereavement service.”
At lunch, the Managing Director of Celton Manx re-affirmed his support for Cruse offering to again sponsor next year’s event.
Sam Skelton, Chairman of Cruse and a Director of Viewpoint who hosted the day said, “The support we continue to receive from so many individuals and companies in the Isle of Man is simple incredible. This is the 11th year I have hosted this golf day and its popularity is undiminished Pleasingly, we will as a result raise over £12,000 from this year’s event and in total over the years, over £90,000 has now been raised. I am so grateful to all who support us and thereby provide much-needed funds to help secure the future of our ongoing operation.”
Cruse Bereavement Care Isle of Man Ltd. will be looking to host its 12th charity golf day in May 2022.
