During the Covid-19 pandemic Viewpoint have reached out to support charitable causes close to our hearts.
In Jersey, Viewpoint have donated several devices and a sum of £2,000 to Janet Hall of Mourants, who has devised a campaign to deliver technology to students who don’t have the resources to continue their learning from home. Working with local schools Janet is identifying where resource gaps exist, collecting devices from corporates and the general public in an effort to relieve pressure on many families. Of our donation Janet said:
“Our thanks go out to the companies such as Viewpoint whose generous contribution will allow children to continue to work from home at this difficult time. Many of us take modern technology for granted, but there are so many homes on the island who do not have devices at hand to facilitate learning alongside parents’ obligations perhaps to work from home.”
Across in Guernsey they have just celebrated the enormous success of The Jason Piriou Memorial Open Bass Fishing Competition which saw 90 anglers participate to raise money for Guernsey Mind’s Man Club. Viewpoint sponsored the popular event which raised a total of £2,600 for the mental health charity. The competition has been running for 10 years now in memory of Jason, husband of our own Kerry Piriou. The event provided a welcome relief to islanders and a chance to get out on the open waters after what has proved a testing period during lockdown.
Recent circumstances have delayed our scheduled charity Golf Day in the Isle of Man, but we are hopeful this will take place later this year. In the interim Viewpoint showed their support for the island’s Government Ministers and healthcare workers with the delivery of two large hampers of local produce to thank them for their efforts in protecting our community and keeping us all safe.
