The vital and life-saving movement restrictions and social distancing of 2020 drastically impacted so many people around the world. As we are now all adapting to the new norm, there has been a globally welcome and perhaps unexpected positive result. Globally, there seems to be a real sense of people putting aside differences, working together – as communities for the greater good.
Viewpoint’s R&D offices are based on the edge of Malaysia’s Capital, Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia has been a regional economic success for many years however as with many South East Asian countries there is a significant sector of the workforce that are not covered by the benefits many in the west may take for granted. COVID-19 stopped employment leaving many solely reliant on their savings, families or their communities.
Thankfully, Malaysia has a strong community spirit to which Viewpoint and its colleagues are always keen to embrace and proud to be a part of. Viewpoint donated MYR100,000 (USD25,000) so that each member of the Viewpoint team could contribute to assist someone they were aware of that really could do with some help.
Below is just small selection of the ways the Viewpoint Team reached out to their local communities by providing vital household staples.
• 50 Residents in Elderly Care Centre
• 20 Families in Family Education Centre
• 50 Families Bangladesh Refugee Centre
• 150+ Low / No Income Families
• 30+ Low / No Income Over 65’s
The Viewpoint colleagues will continue to identify those in need and help where we can.
